King Salmon

You can pursue the most sought after game fish in North America, the King Salmon, on the world famous Kenai River. Nothing beats the thrill of landing a huge King Salmon with its massive strength on the Kenai River.

If you are planning a trip to Alaska in May, June or July, you don't want to miss the opportunity to fish for these spectacular salmon.

Our guides are some of the most sought-after, experienced guides on the river.

Red Salmon

While King fishing is the predominant fishery on the river, the Kenai River has one of the largest Red Salmon runs in the world. The first run of Red Salmon usually hits the river the last week of May and continues to the end of June. The second run of Red Salmon hits the river around mid July and continues through the middle of August.

Fishing for Reds on the Kenai is one of our family's favorite things to do together. After taking clients out to fish these feisty salmon, it quickly becomes a favorite of theirs too. Imagine a fish on every cast, its possible!

Silver Salmon

The first run of silvers begins in late July and continues through August. The second run of silvers starts in late August and goes through the end of October, and the silver salmon season ends on November 30th.

These are the most acrobatic of all the salmon. Silver Salmon are aggressive feeders and willing to strike at a variety of artificial lures and bait. We often limit out within a few hours of being on the river if the timing is right and the run is strong but we like to have you book a full day, giving us time to target Dolly Varden and Trophy Rainbow Trout.

Trout

If you get excited about Trout fishing, you've got to set aside a day to take a trophy Trout trip on the Kenai River. Rainbow Trout can weigh anywhere from 2 lbs to 20 + lbs. We begin fishing for Rainbows on June 15 th and fish through the end of October. We can't say enough about this fishery; you have to experience it to understand why we get excited just talking about it.

If you prefer to fish with a Fly rod, you're welcome to bring your own.
